9 Days Gorilla Tracking, Golden Monkey,Wildlife & Culture.

UGANDA GORILLA, LAKE MBURO, GOLDEN MONKEYS, CULTURE  AND LAKE MUTANDA SAFARI – GS2

 

Day one:
Arrive Entebbe and transfer to the Kampala Serena Hotel for Overnight Booked on a Bed and Breakfast Basis. Transit Time:     1 hour, Distance, 40kms and meal plan: No Meals.

 

Day Two:
The morning after breakfast, start your safari to Lake Mburo National Park. On arrival through the Zebra Track, you will have a mid morning tour through the savannah woodlands of the Acacia trees. The safari through the plains is for the search of the Impala, Water buck, Topi, Eland, Cape Buffalo, Bushbuck Reed buck, Eland and some colorful birds among them the bare faced go away bird, scmitarbill, Lillac Breasted Rollers and the White Pelicans. Later in the evening, the drive through the Lakeside track to spot hippos and Crocodiles before heading to your overnight accommodations at the Mihingo Lodge.

Transit Time:     4 Hours, Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Distance: 260kms.

 Day  Three:
Early morning departure with a morning safari at Lake Mburo. Transfer through Mbarara and on through the some magnificent mountain scenery. Later, proceed to the edge of the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Home to the Mountain Gorillas. Lunch is served at the Gorilla Resort before having taking a village walk in Bwindi. This 3 hour trail passes through a typical rural African Village where it one gets a first hand experience on a visit to the African Craft Makers, a rural homestead, local beer brewing and distillery, traditional healer and the Batwa Traditional Dancers.  Meals and overnight at The Gorilla Resort.

Transit Time:     6 Hours, Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, drinks and Dinner. Distance: 310kms.

 

Day Four:
The day starts with a wake up call with tea/coffee/Hot chocolate with pastries. Later, a full hearty breakfast starts by 7:00am. Later, with your picnic lunches and bottled water, the Gorilla Safari starts with a briefing by the Gorilla Tourism Personnel. Tracking starts there after and the walking through the forest starts from the Gorilla Nest. Gorilla tracking leads to the location of the Mountain Gorilla Feeding area and only one hour will be allowed to photograph the Mountain Gorillas. After a picnic lunch in the forest, transfer back to the base for dinner, drinks by the camp fire and overnight at The Gorilla Resort.

Day Five:
A lovely drive after breakfast gets us through some very rich Equatorial Forests teeming with birds, Lhoeste Monkeys and colubus Monkeys. Transfer to Kisoro and have  the picnic lunch before heading to the Volcanoes Mgahinga Eco Lodge at the edge of the Mgahinga Mountain Range.

Transit Time:     6 Hours, Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, drinks and Dinner. Distance: 200kms.

 

Day Six:
After Breakfast, the Golden Monkey Trackers will start the Morning trek through the Bamboo Forest in Search of habituated Colonies of the Rare Golden Monkeys. The evening is spent interacting with the local Batwa Tribesmen around the base of the Volcanoes. Meals and Overnight at the Volcanoes Eco Lodge.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, drinks and Dinner.

 

 Day Seven:
Morning drive to the Lake Bunyonyi for an afternoon canoeing trip on this Serene Tarn. This is a peaceful picturesque Lake with Many beautiful Islands reachable by boat. Meals and overnight at the Arcadia Cottages.

Transit Time:     3 Hours, Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Distance: 100kms.

 

Day Eight:
Morning travel to Masaka for Lunch before Heading to Kampala in the early afternoon. The evening may be spent shopping before heading to the Kampala Serena for overnight booked on a bed and Breakfast Basis.

Transit Time:     6 Hours, Meal Plan: Breakfast and Lunch. Distance: 410kms.

Day Nine:
Morning breakfast before the transfer to Entebbe Airport

Transit Time:     1 Hour.

Safari price per person:   Based on the level of accommodation and group size.
