Day 1 : KAMPALA – MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK
Your driver/ guide will pick you from Hotel Africana at 8:00 am from where you will start the drive to Murchison Falls National Park with a stop over for lunch enroute. Murchison Falls National park covers 3,840 sq km and has 76 mammal species and 450 bird species.
Upon arriving Murchison falls, drive to the “Top of the falls” for a breath taking sight of the raging Nile as it forces its way through a rocky gap barely six meters wide. This is the point where the Nile River explodes through a narrow gorge and cascades down to become a placid river. Proceed and cross by ferry to Paraa Safari Lodge on the northern bank of the river for dinner and overnight.
Day 2 : MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK
Start the day with an early morning game drive where you will be able to view animals unique to the African Savannah like giraffe, antelope, lion, elephant, and the Uganda kob. The bird life is also impressive, with the eagle being one of the prized sightings and the rare shoebill.
Lunch break then take on an afternoon launch cruise on the Nile River. The cruise takes you to the bottom of the thundering falls where you will see huge crocodiles, schools of hippos, buffalos, elephants and a variety of water birds such as herons, cormorants, bee eaters, kingfishers, skimmers, and fish eagles and with luck the rare shoebill stork. Return to Paraa Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK – FORT PORTAL
Drive southward down the western edge of Uganda, through winding agricultural lands, where villagers and their children will show their friendly nature and wave out and you can glimpse the Ugandan way of rural life. We will enter the crater-lake region located underneath the magnificent Rwenzori Mountains. We will spend the night in a beautiful crater lakes region within the famous tea growing region of Uganda. Dinner and over night stay at Ndali Lodge/ Primate Lodge/Chimp Nest Lodge.
Day 4 : KIBALE NATIONAL PARK
Waking up early you can hope to get a good view of the Mountains of the Moon before we make our way into the chimpanzee forests of Kibale National Park. Get your walking shoes on as we move through bush and jungle to spend time with our fascinating relatives, watching them swing through the trees or move quickly across the ground in front of us. The park is home to 12 species of primate. The Primates include Chimps; Black and White Colobus Monkeys; Blue, Black faced Red Colobus; Red Tailed Monkeys; Olive Baboons and an incredible array of bird life, including the Great Blue Turaco. After lunch take on an afternoon nature walk to the tropical swamps and vegetation. Have a chance of seeing some water birds. Dinner and overnight Ndali Lodge.
Day 6: KIBALE NATIONAL PARK – SEMLIKI – QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARKS
Visit the Semliki National Park. This park has fantastic scenery, hot springs and is ideal for forest jungle walks, birding, and viewing of River Semliki meanders. At “Mungu Ni Mukubwa’’ while in the mountains, the road offers scenic views of the meandering river, fuming hot springs and tropical rain forest. Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge.
Day 7: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
Rise very early for a morning game drive to catch-up with the early risers and predators returning to their hideouts. You will most likely meet grazing Hippos, Elephants, Lions, spotted Hyenas, bush buck, water buck, stripped jackal, comical warthogs and the elusive leopard.
Return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon take on a launch cruise on Kazinga channel - that joins Lakes Edward and George. It is a waterway that is filled with schools of hippos, buffaloes, and elephants, which can be seen at the banks. There are also a rich variety of birds on the channel. Return for dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge.
Day 8 : QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
After an early breakfast drive to Kyambura Gorge for a thrilling Chimpanzee safari. Your guided walk may last three to five hours and in addition to seeing the chimps, the trip may yield sightings of the colobus monkeys, baboons, red tailed and vervet monkeys, and other primates. It is important to note that the chimpanzee safari is subject to availability of permits and good weather because occasional flooding can make the trails impassable.
Proceed to Maramagambo forest for a forest walk. Many surprises await you in this extensive rain forest. Pythons are often observed in the crevices of the bats cave floor using the bats as a source of food, the cave is near the picturesque blue lake and hunters cave. Your guided walk may also yield sight seeing of wild chimps, many forest birds and other primates. Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge.
Day 9: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK (ISHASHA)
After breakfast drive to Ishasha sector – the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National park. Take on a game drive in search of tree climbing lions before checking in at your lodge for Dinner and overnight at Ishasha Wilderness Camp.
Day 10: QUEEN ELIZABETH (ISHASHA) – BWINDI NATIONAL PARK
After an early morning game drive, proceed to Bwindi Forest National park. Dinner and overnight at Kitandara Tented Camp.
Day 11: BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK gorilla tracking
After breakfast set off early with your guide to track the gorillas. The thrill of your encounter will erase the difficulties of the potentially strenuous trek. Spend time in awe watching the gorillas go about their activities. gorilla safari Each encounter is different and has its own rewards, but you are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting gorilla tour as the youngsters frolic and swing from vines in a delightfully playful display. Day 12: BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK -ENTEBBE
After breakfast,, proceed to Entebbe or Kampala or to the airport for your homebound flight
