Uganda Gorilla Trekking and Tree Climbing Lions 6 days, Fly and Drive

 

UGANDA GORILLAS AND ISHASHA TREE CLIMBING LION SAFARI, 6 DAYS 5 NIGHTS – GS1

 

Day One:
Arrival at the Entebbe International Airport and transfer through the roadside shops and fruit markets along the shores of Lake Victoria. Later, proceed through the traffic into Kampala before being transferred  to your overnight accommodations at the Kampala Serena Hotel.

Kampala was a city of 7 hills, which it has now outgrown due to the rising population. In Kampala, on private arrangements, you may be able to visit the different restaurants, live band, nightclubs or the Kampala carnivore, where unlimited, different types of meats are served  as you are entertained by the local traditional dancers.

Day Two:
After breakfast, we are driven to Entebbe for a morning flight to Bwindi Impenetrable Gorilla Forest. The flight takes approximately one and a half hours before an onward road transfer to Bwindi of 40 minutes.  After lunch at your gorilla camp, you take an afternoon walk to the community villages on a cultural orientation of Bwindi. The Batwa tribesmen will show you their ways of life in a nearby community that has been allocated for their survival. On the trek on the village walk, you may also visit the local Bee Keepers sites, a local orphanage school and the local traditional healer who treats people with the use of forest herbs. Return in the evening for drinks and overnight at The Gorilla Resort.

Day Three:
After a morning breakfast, start your morning safari to Ishasha in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The mid morning is spent on the trail spotting tree climbing Lions, Elephant, Uganda Kob, Cape Buffalo, wallowing Hippos by the river Ishasha and Ntungwe. The expansive plains of Ishasha also provide an opportunity of seeing the wild game in your privacy due to the low numbers of Tourist vehicles on the game viewing safari drives. Picnic Lunches will be served in the wilderness before heading back to the Gorilla Sanctuary arriving for dinner and overnight. Meals and overnight at The Gorilla Resort.

Distance:          60Kms.

 

Day Four:
Morning breakfast before starting the day’s Gorilla Tracking Safari in Bwindi. You would be trekking either the M, H, R or B gorilla groups of Bwindi. Trekking is usually done ahead of time and the trackers would be able to direct the gorilla trackers to the area. Picnic Lunches are served in the forest before returning to The Gorilla Resort for dinner and overnight.

Day Five:
A second day of Gorilla trekking at Bwindi where an alternative gorilla group may be chosen. This is to maximize the viewing and photographic experience of the Gorillas. The process of gorilla trekking involves the scouting, which is conducted by the trackers. They go out ahead of the main gorilla trekking party and find the gorillas. Your gorilla guide would then be guided to the location of the group to ease the trekking distance and walk. After taking the pictures of gorilla family with the silver backed Dad, Black backed mother and the little gorillas, your trek ends with a return to camp for dinner and night stay at the The Gorilla Resort.

Day Six:
Breakfast at the lodge and check out of the Bwindi Impenetrable National park. You drive through the banana plantations and the tea growing plantations of Kayonza and Kanyantorogo before heading to Kihiihi town. On arrival, after about an hour, you are checked in for your scheduled flight leaving at 09:00am – arriving Entebbe around 10:30am to check in for your International connecting outbound flight.
