6 Days Tanzania and Gorilla Safari, Serengeti and Rwanda tour.


Day one:              Arrive at the Kilimanjaro International airport and transfer to your overnight accommodations in Arusha. Your safari guide will do a briefing on the following day’s departure for the safari of the Serengeti.


Day two:              The morning starts with a drive out of Arusha on a long drive to the Serengeti National reserve. We will arrive amidst the millions of wildebeest in their annual migration routes and will have an en route game drive before stopping over for lunch. You will have an evening safari on the endless plains of the Serengeti looking for Cheetah and the following hyenas as well as grant’s gazelle. Meals and overnight at your overnight accommodation in affordable accommodations, private tented camp or Standard safari Lodge depending on the location of the migrations.


Day Three:          The morning breakfast is preceded by a morning wildlife viewing safari in the Serengeti in an open topped safari vehicle. Your Tanzanian guide will be taking you close to the Big Five in search of Lion hunting parties. Cheetah and jackals are usually active during the big cats’ hunts and can be seen feeding off gazelle in the comforts of the Acacia tree shades. Other animals on the morning game drive include Zebra, Topi, Thomson’s gazelle, Giraffe, Cape buffalo and the occasional leopard. Should you need to do a balloon safari, this is possible if booked ahead of time for an extra fee. The afternoon is spent relaxing at camp or lodge by the pool and after lunch, another evening game viewing tour ends the day with a return to your safari accommodations for dinner and overnight.


Day Four:             Morning breakfast, and final safari in the Serengeti before heading to the Ngorongoro Crater. You will have lunch and later, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for the afternoon crater tour towards the Crater Lake where the resident animals of Ngorongoro , are seen on the crater floor jostling for drinking rights at the water hole. This is the best place in Tanzania to see the rare Black Rhinos in their natural environment. Other wildlife includes the jackals that compete for leftover kills with Hyenas, Elephants that come to the Crater Lake on some occasions, as well as cheetah and gazelle. The hippos are usually seen emerging from the Lake in the evenings to browse on the short grasses. In the evening, drive up the Crater and overnight at your overnight at the Ngorongoro Crater accommodation of choice. Alternatively, proceed to Arusha, depending on the following day’s flight timings to Rwanda.


Day Five:              The morning early breakfast and transfer to the Kilimanjaro airport begins the gorilla safari trip into Rwanda with the Rwanda Air flight to Kigali. You are met on arrival and transferred through the meandering road network into the Mountains and proceed to your overnight accommodations arriving for dinner and overnight at the Mountain Gorilla View Lodge.


Day Six:                                Morning breakfast and proceed to the gorilla group allocation center. The guides will be briefing a group of over 80 people who would be heading into different directions on the day’s gorilla tour in Rwanda. There is some cultural entertainment this morning, as the gorilla trekking officials finalize the paperwork and tracking allocations. Later, the morning safari starts with a walk through fields of potatoes and the pyrethrum farms before heading out to the park boundary to begin the gorilla trekking. Gorillas are huge apes that have been habituated to human presence and they may at times be tempted to get close to the trekkers. A minimum of 10 metres gap should be maintained at all times to minimize disease transmittal to the endangered species of these giants. After an hour of gorilla viewing, you will return to the lodge for lunch, before checking out and driving to the Kigali Mille Collines Hotel Rwanda for dinner and overnight.


Day Seven:         The hotel will transfer to the airport for the departure flight home.
