For adventurous folks, there is nothing like attempting primate safaris to view some of our closest relatives, the primates in action.. The Chimpanzees are the closest living relatives to human beings with about 97% of the genes found in a man to be the same for chimps. Thats why there is a lot that we share with the chimps. They way they play, take care of their kinds, feed, laugh and intelligence.

 

The Order Primates consists of various group of mammals that include about 233 species categorized into 13 families. Primates include lemurs, monkeys and apes. Their range of size or mass is from 70g pygmy marmoset to 175kg gorilla.

Primates have five fingers on each hand, fingernails, and opposing thumbs. Primates have forward facing eyes that give them binocular vision. They have mobile raduis and ulna bones in their forelimbs.

Primates evolved from tree-dwelling ancestors and many remain arboreal now. A few species (including humans) are terrestrial.
