7 Days gorilla and tree climbing Lions, Bwindi and Ishasha Safari.

Day one:                Arrive Entebbe, and check out of immigrations before meeting your Uganda safari guide at the arrivals. Later, drive through Kajjansi and on the banks of Lake Victoria arriving for check in at the Serena Lake Victoria Resort for overnight.


Day two:              Breakfast early, before checking out at about 08:00am. You drive through the outskirts of Kampala and proceed through the Lake Victoria basin, an area characterized by swamps, forests and agricultural farmland of coffee, sweet potatoes and sorghum. Have a brief stopover at the Uganda equator, before heading into Mbarara to have lunch at the Motel Agip. Later, you drive to the Queen Elizabeth National park arriving with an evening game viewing tour on the Ishasha road. The wildlife by the roadside include; Elephants near the Kazinga stretch, Uganda Kob, Cape buffalo, Baboons, Red tailed monkeys, Topi, Bushbuck and possibly, the tree climbing Lions. Transfer to the Ishasha Wilderness Tented Camp for dinner and overnight. Transit time, about 8 hours.


Day three:           Morning breakfast, overlooking the Ishasha River and the nearby Hippo pool before starting the morning safari into the Ishasha plains. The expansive grassland savannah and the fig trees provide opportunities of seeing the lions on hunts. The lions then take to the trees in the early afternoons to avoid the menacing bugs in the grass. Your driver guide will be pointing out sightings of Ishasha animals which include; Uganda Kob, Cape buffalo, spotted Hyena, Hippos and the elephants drinking by the river, Warthog, reedbuck, Deffasa waterbuck, Topi and a variety of birds, including the white browed coucal. After lunch at the lodge, drive through the towns of Kihiihi, Kanyantorogo and Butogota, before arriving in the evening for dinner and overnight at the Gorilla’s Resort.


Day four:             Breakfast at the lodge, overlooking the misty impenetrable forest . You later drive to the Buhoma gorilla office where the registration and gorilla tour briefings will be conducted by the officials. Later, a morning trek into the jungle begins. The gorilla guides and porters will find the mountain gorillas by tracking them from their overnight ground nests to the feeding area. Gorilla viewing takes an hour, at a close distance of about 10 metres. After the gorilla visit, you will be taken to a short distance away, where you will have your picnic lunch before heading back to your overnight accommodations for dinner and overnight.


Day Five:              Morning breakfast and either take a second day of gorilla trekking to see a different gorilla group at Bwindi, which would cost an extra US$600 per person. Or transfer to the Munyaga waterfalls on a 3 hour easy to average walking tour looking for l’hoest monkeys, blue monkeys, blue monkeys, red tailed monkeys, black and white colubus monkey or baboons. On the walk, you through the Afro Montane forest, through beautiful bridges over the rivers, you will see some butterflies, rare plants from the Pleistocene era which include ferns and African Stinkwood. Over 200 species of trees and about 360 species of rare birds have been recorded on the official checklists of Bwindi. After taking pictures at the River Munyaga, you return to your accommodations for meals and overnight.


Day Six:                                Morning transfer to Mbarara with picnic lunch and proceed to Kampala through mountains and the savannah grasslands on an all day transit to Kampala. You later return to your overnight accommodation at the Serena Lake Victoria Hotel. Meal plan: Breakfast and Lunch.


Day seven:          After breakfast, your safari guide will transfer to the airport on a 40minutes drive for your departure flight out of Entebbe international Airport.
