Gorilla Safari Advice, Secrets to a successful gorilla trek in Uganda

Planning is the key to a successful safari.

1. Ensure that your gorilla permit is booked at least 3 months before the actual trekking date.

2. Finalise your accommodation options, get the details of the gorilla lodge, hotel or guest house, ensure that you have a reservation number or consult your tour operator over that.

3. Make sure that you are physically fit. Gorilla tracking in Uganda involves lots of movement and uphill climb.

4. Arrival in Uganda in at least 10 hours before your gorilla safari. This is because you may need to have to travel to Bwindi , need about 6 hours on the road.

5. Your gorilla permit!! Very essential, contact your operator to ensure that your permit has been reserved.  the cost is USD 500
