Uganda Safaris: Called the pearl of Africa, offers great opportunities for your gorilla adventure. With a permit costing USD 500 per person, you are allowed to track the mountain gorillas ( Gorilla berengei berengei ) in the Bwindi impenetrable forest in the south western part of Uganda. The gorillas live in families and so you may be advised to visit a gorilla group depending on the availability of permits.

Rwanda Safaris: A land of thousand mills has its top tourist attraction as the mountain gorillas in Virunga where about 300 gorillas stay on this extinct volcano called Parc De Volcanoes or PNV, a centre where Dian Fossey set up her research centre for the gorilla conservation programs. GORILLA WATCHING SAFARI WITH CHIMPANZEES, ISHASHA AND THE ANKOLE CULTURE – 10 DAYS


Day one:
Arrive at the airport, met and transferred to Kampala. Depending on the traffic, this may take as few as 40 minutes or as many as 1 hour and a half. Overnight at Cassia Lodge. Meal Plan - Bed and breakfast. TRANSIT TIME 45 minutes.


Day Two:
Breakfast at the viewing dinning area before starting the safari to through Mubende and Kyenjojo. You arrive for an African Buffet style lunch in Fort Portal before proceeding to the edge of the Kibale Forest. Day Three:
The morning after breakfast, the chimpanzee safari guides will offer a briefing prior to the grouping of the trekkers. Later with forest chimpanzee tour guides, start the chimpanzee walking trip through the forest. You will be trailing one of the troops of wild but habituated chimpanzees. You are allowed up to an hour viewing the chimpanzees before taking your picnic lunch and driving to Katara Lodge. Meal Plan - Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day Four:
Morning breakfast, then transfer to the Ishasha sector for the full day of game viewing. Aboard the private open topped safari vehicle, your guide will be pointing out the Tree climbing lions on fig trees and other wildlife. The Lions in this part of the park tend to climb trees in the early afternoons after their hunts. Other animals include; leopard, Elephant, Cape buffalo, Topi, Uganda Kob, Hippos, plants and birdlife. Later have lunch then travel to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (TRANSIT TIME 1 HOUR). Day Five:
Gorilla trekking starts after breakfast. The rangers and trackers through the thick and steep vegetation track the Gorillas. Day Six:
Second day of Gorilla trekking. This is to maximize the interaction with the Mountain Gorillas. Should you wish, we will be happy to allot a particular gorilla group depending on your preference. Day Seven:
Morning transfer through Ntungamo before heading into the Ankole Area famous for the Long Horned Cattle. Continue to the Nshenyi Village where you will be welcomed to a typical rural farm. Dinner and overnight at Nshenyi Village local huts. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. TRANSIT TIME 7 HOURS.


Day Eight:
This morning, you will be introduced the cultural way of life as you have your first lessons in milking the Ankole cows. You will also see the local ghee making and will also take part in the grazing of the cows. After lunch, you may opt for a walking safari along the Akagera River before returning for the evening entertainment before dinner and overnight at the Nshenyi Village Local Huts. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.


Day Nine:
Take a scenic drive to Kampala, through the mountainous area of Kigezi and the Ankole area with its Long Horned cattle before arriving Kampala in the evening. Night stay at cassia Lodge. Meal Plan - Breakfast and Lunch. TRANSIT TIME 6 HOURS.
